Shant, shanti, shanti… Sanskrit for peace… Sometimes repeated as a mantra during meditation. La paz (Spanish for peace) that refreshes – with each pause to breath and reflect.
It has been said that prayer is talking to God – and meditation is “listening” (to the reply). What is it that many people seem to lack, wish for, and seek? Peace! – especially of mind. This blog is a piece of mine.

There is a lot of talk today about “deficits” (and what is perceived and proclaimed as “lacking”, or “not enough”, in some way). Most people are aware of a growing “budget deficit” and increasing “attention deficit”. But, is there really a deficit (problem) at all – or just a difficulty in our default definition, distribution, and allocation of assets and resources?
Old soldiers never die; young ones do. Don’t be a reason!

There are currently about 29,000 non-citizens (with ‘green cards’) serving in the U.S. military. Most serve with pride; many do so with distinction. Unlike far too many born (with citizenship) in the United States, they are willing to risk their lives, if necessary, for what this country and being a part of it means and represents to them.
